Deep, powerful, Portable bass
User interviews pointed out many users would love to have a portable speaker/sub-woofer with exceptionally powerful bass for all kinds of activities where power outlet was not available. It was critical for us to accommodate those needs in a compact device — leading to Belle’s distinctive circular radiator architecture. The Belle Speaker was inspired by a Chinese character , 人 /rén/, human. The spherical form represents the union of people, and Belle’s ability to sync with multiple speakers of any brands. Music gathers people together.
Incorporating the radiators, and making them consistent with the design was challenging. The radiators are those front circular caps that help drop audio frequency down below 200 Hz.
We tried different sizes and forms of enclosures to fit 3 drivers, batteries that allows 8 hours of play time and a circuit board. The main challenges were to make sure the enclosure volume was sufficient enough to allow the radiators to resonate with the bass driver to drop the audio frequencies down, and also make the enclosure airtight without any leakage.
